For too many people in Britain personal hygiene products and toiletries are luxuries they can’t afford. Forcing them to de-priortise keeping clean so they can pay the bills and put food on their table. And with 13 million people now living below the poverty line in the UK this is an issue that continues to escalate*. Beauty Banks exists to tackle this and to support those living in poverty with hygiene and ‘beauty’ essentials like toothpaste, deodorant, tampons, shampoo, body wash… as they believe being clean is a right, not a privilege. And that our dignity, self-respect and mental health depends on it.
